Taking the clients out into the community, church, picnics is fun and enjoyable. The hardest part of my job would be redirecting a client who has become agitated and become combative. I believe my manager is doing a good job making sure all the needs of the clients are being met.Ĭulture: I believe that we need to respect peoples beliefs regardless of weather we agree.
I understand how hard it must be to please everyone. Management: I felt that Management didn't like conflict so I feel because of this I didn't feel like problems among staff were being taken care of. For example if they had a seizure or were sick. I've learned a lot with documentation not only with medication but with being more descriptive when documenting how a clients day went. While working with LEAP and the clients I have learned to stay calm and that the tone of your voice can some times determine weather your clients will escalate ( become more agitated). Staff makes sure all the clients needs are met. Staff prepares all meals and distributes all medications when needed. Some clients are brought to program for the day.
Typical day at work: The morning routine starts with getting clients up for the day, showered and preparing breakfast along with any medications that they might need, including vitals or blood sugars.
